A FEW WORDS WITH…JESSICA HISCHE
More than a few words are necessary when talking about Jessica Hische. Yes, she’s a letterer, illustrator and self-described “avid internetter.” Yes, she made her foray into typography fame with the Daily Drop Cap, a project in which every day she created a new illustrative letter each day - working through the alphabet a total of twelve times. And yes, she has the most adorable wedding website in the history of the internets.
But it’s Jessica’s prolific body of work and whimsical sensibility that make her a seriously big deal in the graphic design and typography worlds. Her words have graced the pages (and covers and credits) of clients like Wes Anderson, Dave Eggers, Tiffany’s, The New York Times, Penguin Books, Target, American Express and Wired Magazine. And her astounding body of work hasn’t gone unnoticed. She’s received accolades from Print Magazine, Forbes, Young Guns and multiple magazines worldwide.
We geeked out over her work, too. Which is why we put her talents towards the typography for every week we could – from Competing to Wanderlusting and everything in between.
